Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I hope and pray that your summer has allowed you times of refreshment and renewal!
As I write this, I reflect on the international events of these past weeks particularly the traumatic and tragic circumstances that many, including our brothers and sisters in Christ have experienced at the hands of the militant group Isis in the Middle East. Many Christians have been persecuted at their hands to the point of death, something with which we are not familiar on a personal level. It reminds me of a true story shared by Chuck Swindoll:
